Good advice. In my agency life, by the time we got to proposal stage, clients felt invested. We tracked our proposal win/loss rate, and it was usually over 90%. What worked for us was investing time before the proposal stage to ask a lot of questions. We'd then figure out exactly what the client needed -- which was often different from what they were asking for -- and the proposal would speak directly to those challenges.
